RI-LINKS2UA Info Day and combined Info Day in Kyiv

The RI-LINSK2UA project organized its second Information Day on 13 November, 2017. The event focused on the topic of "Advanced and Resource Materials" in the new Work Pogramme 2018-2020 of Horizon 2020. In the upcoming days another Information Day was organized in Kyiv. On 16 November a combined Info Day gathered participants to provide insight to thematic areas like "Transport", "Security", and also to possibilities of the CSA projects in the context of the new Work Programme of Horizon 2020.

The RI-LINKS2UA Info Day was organised with participation of Hélène Chraye, Head of Unit Advanced Materials and Nanotechnologies of the European Commission, and representative of EU delegation in Ukraine Mкs. Yarmila Dubravská. The event took place at the Big Conference-Hall of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. This event brought together more than 60 participants dealing with researches, manufacturing and processing of new/advanced materials from research institutes, universities and industrial sector.

Mrs. Hélène Chraye made a comprehensive presentation of new Working Programmes 2018-2020, with an overview of the upcoming calls with detailed topic explanations. She encouraged Ukrainian stakeholders to be active in partner search, proposal preparation and submission for mentioned calls. Ms. Aleksandra Milewska from the Institute of Power Engineering (Warsaw, Poland) shared the experience in proposal preparation and participation in SPIRE project ‘VULKANO’, and stressed that SPIRE would be a new opportunity for Ukrainian researchers and industrial partners.

From Ukrainian side the presentations concerning advanced and resource materials, their applications, links between research and industrial community were delivered, which was followed by a discussion of the better ways to communicate using the Technology Platforms, particularly UNTPAM possibilities.

The InfoDay session continued on the 16 November 2017 at the Kyiv House of Scientists of NAS of Ukraine, organized by Ukrainian NCPs on Smart, Green and Integrated Transport with the support of the RI-LINKS2UA project in the context of Horizon 2020 Working Programmes 2018-2020. About 50 persons who represent research institutions, educational organizations and Ukrainian SMEs took part in this event.

During the first part of the event the participants got acquainted with possibilities provided by the Horizon 2020 projects RI-LINKS2UA, EaP PLUS and AERO-UA in the context of Horizon 2020 Working Programmes 2018-2020. Later the European Enterprise Network representative familiarized attendees with EEN working instruments on looking for the partners in innovation activities. On the second part of the event  the representatives of corresponding NCPs in Ukraine presented the most interesting calls of Horizon 2020 Working Programmes 2018-2020 on Smart, Green and Integrated Transport. Some recommendations were also introduced based on experience in the application preparation for calls of Horizon 2020 programme. A fruitfull discussion within Q&A session was of significant interest for participants.
