The SME Innovation Associate is a flexible programme tailored to the needs of your company. You don't have to wait until September 2017 to recruit a top class researcher to help you! If you are successful in your submission, you will be able to sign a contract (grant agreement) with the European Commission by end of February 2017 at the latest.
If you wish so, you can take the Fast Lane, publish a vacancy on EURAXESS and recruit the Innovation Associate as from March 2017. However you should take into account that the position of Innovation Associate under this scheme is covered from September 2017 until August 2018.
It means that you would have to cover the costs linked to the researchers between the signature of the contract between your company and the European Commission in February 2017 and the official starting date of Innovation Associate in September 2017. The remuneration paid to the Innovation Associate should be the same as the one indicated in your application and the contract between your company and the researcher shall cover until August 2018.
If you consider that it is essential for your company to have the Innovation Associate working with you as soon as possible and you are willing to cover the costs of the first salaries until September 2017, do not hesitate and take the Fast Lane!
