Celebrating 20 Years of Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions
On 29 November 2016, an event to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions (MSCA) will be held in Brussels. The programme has been nourishing excellence in science for the past 20 years and has become the main EU programme for doctoral training. Under Horizon 2020, the EU has significantly increased the MSCA budget and hence, its investment in our most talented researchers and the entrepreneurs of tomorrow.

The Marie Curie Actions have come a long way since initially starting as an opportunity for researchers to go abroad. Over time, mobility has become more and more systemic and now, it is part of a “typical” researcher’s career. The Marie Curie Actions originally focused on individual fellowships and then became more oriented towards structured training and hosting fellowships. The latest evolution is COFUND, which looks for partners, funding, and partnerships with national programmes, with the sole aim of creating a larger impact. It has become the usual path towards a fellowship and to becoming internationally involved in research.
Registrations are now open for what promises to be a highly sought-after and informative event, featuring numerous prominent speakers, including the Director General of DG EAC, the Commissioner of Education, Culture, Youth and Sport, as well as current and past MSCA fellows. The agenda and details about the venue of the event are available here.
If you wish to attend the event, please make sure to register no later than 7 November 2016.
